Flower Farm

O ur Flower Farm is situated right behind the flower studio, in our home garden, nestled in the Suffolk countryside. Founded shortly after the business began in 2016, it is now made up of two polytunnels, many raised beds and several mixed borders sitting on half an acre.

The Growing Season

O ur growing season began in March 2022 with the first of the spring flowers; the beautifully scented double narcissus and hyacinths. By April we then had a flurry of Ranunculus, Tulips and Anemones. The beginning of May saw the return of the Roses and the first of the Sweet Peas, Delphinium, Peony, Nigella, Astrantia and Iris.

As June arrived the garden was in full bloom; Antirrhinums, Scabious, Stocks, Foxgloves and Ammi, with a lovely mix of soft grasses for added movement.

Abundant Florals

W e now grow an abundance of stems in many stunning varieties. We like to use as many stems as we can in our own work, but also sell directly to florists. Depending on the weather, the British flower season usually begins around late March and continues into October, or when the first frost arrives. We have many flower varieties blooming in the garden, from the more traditional and beautifully scented David Austin Roses and Sweet Peas, to more unusual varieties such as Echinacea, Grasses, Eremurus and Ranunculus.

We also grow a colourful and abundant range of edible flowers ideal for bakers to use in their cake design or for couples to add to champagne flutes.

Caring & Conditioning

O ur flowers are completely natural and pesticide free, meaning extra care is required when transporting the flowers from the farm to the studio.

This careful process is called conditioning. The flowers are cut first thing in the morning, before being stripped, cut and left to soak up as much water as possible for the next 12 - 24 hours.

“Imogen created the flowers for our wedding and they were absolutely beautiful. She really understood the brief and what I was going for (despite vague explanations) and everyone commented on how lovely the flowers were. She was also so friendly, easygoing and worked to our budget. We even got a lovely tour of the flower farm to see our flowers a few weeks before the wedding. Highly recommend!”
